DAVID BUTTERFIELD
With a B.A.in Humanities (Theater and Film) at the University of Colorado (1981), David Butterfield joined Warren Miller Productions in Los Angeles to direct and photograph comedy stunts and ski action for the veteran ski film producer. This led to a year of three-camera news production (Group W Santa Monica) and writing and producing credits for specials (KNBC, KCET) and series for special interest national cable networks (The Silent Network).
In 1985 Butterfield returned to the mountains of Sun Valley, Idaho and started Diamond Sun Productions, an award winning film and video production company specializing in corporate films, documentaries, sports segments and regional commercials. Butterfield also supports visiting still and motion picture producers with location scouting, management, and specialized services for mountain location work.
Butterfield is currently in production on “The Giants of Katmai,” a documentary on Alaskan grizzly bears while marketing a reality based television series, a one hour drama series, a three-camera comedy series, and feature scripts.
